MONTEGO BAY, St James — PRESIDENT of the Montego Bay Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MBCCI)

Davon Crump has urged BPM Financial to offer products tailor-made for operators of small and medium-sized enterprises (SME's).

"I am challenging this financial institution to take us higher by tailoring some products specific to operators of small and medium-sized enterprises, and market these products to them in a direct way," Crump charged.

He was speaking last Thursday during a ceremony to mark the official opening of the BPM Financial Montego Bay branch located in the Montego Bay Shopping Centre.
Crump argued that since small businesses account for more than 80 per cent of the country's working population, financial institutions such as BPM Financial should pay closer attention to their needs.
He explained that like the rest of the world, small businesses in Jamaica have outnumbered big businesses and as such are the driving force behind economic growth.

Meanwhile, managing director of BPM Peta-Rose Hall expressed that the opening of the Montego Bay branch signals BPM's expansion across Jamaica.
"This is indeed a very exciting occasion for us. Today we formally mark the start of BPM's expansion into towns and cities across Jamaica," Hall stated.
BPM was founded in 1993 as part of the Barita Group but rebranded in 2007 and is no longer affiliated with the Barita Group of companies.
Since inception, BPM Financial has been offering a wide range of unique savings and investment products and building strong relationships with its customers.
